If you’re considering moving to the countryside, our new development, Garland Park, in Benenden, Kent, may be the perfect place for you and your family. Consisting of 87 two to five-bedroom homes, including 12 distinctive townhouses, Garland Park embodies the high-specification standard that we set at Esquire. This small village offers a peaceful, community-focussed lifestyle, situated amongst an abundance of beautiful scenery. With good local amenities, highly ranked schools, and easy access to larger towns and transport links, Benenden holds a great balance of rural charm and everyday convenience.

The local area

Nestled in the High Weald of Kent, Benenden is surrounded by outstanding natural beauty, with rolling hills around every corner, perfect for summertime strolls or sub-zero cycles throughout the year. In the heart of the village is St George’s Church, a Grade II listed building set on the parish green, one of many historical sites surrounding the village. In the warmer months, the green will greet you with cricket matches and fetes, with firework displays and cosy evenings at the local pub during the autumn and winter, adding to the existing community feel.

Travel and amenities

London is not far out of reach, with Staplehurst Station only a short drive from Benenden, providing direct services to the Capital within an hour. Benenden is also within an hour’s drive of neighbouring towns such as Royal Tunbridge Wells, Ashford, Canterbury and Hastings, offering a vast variety of amenities to indulge in. To add to Benenden’s own historical and scenic features, it is hugged by several National Trust sites, including Sissinghurst Castle, Scotney Castle and Bodiam Castle, offering educational and exciting family days out.

Family life

Benenden and its surrounding villages are home to many highly ranked nurseries and schools, including Benenden School, where Princess Anne received her education. Outside of the classroom, take the little ones to enjoy a weekend family stroll around Hemsted Forest, only a 10-minute drive from the centre of Benenden. Offering 398 hectares of woodland to explore, Hemsted Forest makes for a great day out no matter the season. Alternatively, if your little ones have fled the nest, you can fill your weekends with visits to the local golf course and winery.
